A snap lock carton has a base construction where the panels interlock mechanically when tucked in the correct sequence. The base must be erected by hand or on a machine, the panels are tucked in sequence and once in position they snap and lock together, holding firmly without any adhesive required at the point of filling.
The snap lock construction is particularly useful where the product inside is heavy enough to put stress on a standard tuck base, or where a simple tucked base isn't reliable enough. Common applications include:

The main advantage of the snap lock construction is base security. Because the panels interlock mechanically, the base holds under load far more reliably than a simple tuck. It doesn't rely on friction alone, and there's no glue that can fail in cold or damp conditions.
